TierPilot — Privacy Policy

TierPilot ("the app") writes rule-based wholesale prices, order quantity rules and volume price breaks into a Shopify merchant's native B2B catalogs. This policy explains what data the app processes and why.

Data we process

The app requests four Shopify permissions and no others: read_products, write_products, read_markets and read_inventory. The inventory permission is used for one field only — the cost per item — which is what cost-plus pricing and the margin floor are calculated from.

It reads the store's catalogs and price lists (title, status, currency, the catalog-wide adjustment, and the fixed prices, quantity rules and volume price breaks already recorded on them); the store's markets, limited to each market's name and type, so that a company-location (B2B) market can be told apart from a regional, location or channel market; and the store's products and variants (title, SKU, vendor, product type, tags, collection membership, retail price, and the cost per item Shopify already stores on the inventory item).

It stores the merchant's own configuration — rule sets, rules, break ladders, quantity rules and pinned variants — together with, for each variant it has priced, the Shopify variant identifier, the price last written and a fingerprint of the breaks written, so that unchanged variants can be skipped. It also stores a log of every run and a snapshot of each variant's price, quantity rule and price breaks immediately before that variant was written, which is what allows a run to be reverted.

Data we do NOT collect

TierPilot stores no customer personal data: no names, emails, addresses, payment details, order records or identifiers of any kind. It does not request read_customers, read_orders or read_companies. It never reads which companies or company locations a catalog serves, and never requests company-specific contextual pricing. It does not request write_publications and therefore cannot add products to, or remove products from, a catalog. No cookies beyond the session cookie Shopify's embedded app framework requires, and no third-party tracking.

Data retention and deletion

Uninstalling the app pauses every rule set immediately, clears the background job queue and deletes the stored Shopify session. All remaining data for the shop is permanently deleted in response to Shopify's shop redaction webhook. Prices, quantity rules and price breaks already written into a merchant's own Shopify price list are the merchant's data and remain in Shopify; a run can be reverted from inside the app before uninstalling.

Third parties

No merchant data is sold or shared. The app communicates only with Shopify's Admin API. If a merchant chooses to send in-app feedback, the text they type is stored with their shop record and read by the app's developers.
